Karl Rove Leads GOP Attack on Tea Party Candidate

Republican Cannibalism Begins

I hate to say I told you so ( I don't really) but the morning after comments by the GOP on Tuesday's primary results proves beyond any doubt that conservatives are fighting an uphill battle in November. You see folks we're in a war against two political parties - the Democrats and the Republicans. Or as I like to call them - Liberal and Liberal Lite.

Christine O'Donnell won her primary race against Republican rino Mike Castle hands down and left the GOP feeling like they were coming down from a bad acid trip. Castle, two term Governnor and nine term congressman from Delaware, with a ton of money and fully endorsed by his party got his proverbial clock cleaned by a virtual unknown despite mounting a smear campaign that would make Jefferson and Hamilton blush. And the big problem is that this race is emblematic of what's happening across the nation as Tea Party endorsed candidates upset long time incumbents from coast to coast and Alaska as well.

Karl Rove led the pity party in an appearance on Hannity. Decrying the loss of a sure victory in November against the Democrats, Rove continued the smear campaign mounted against O'donnell, questioning her tax returns and alluding to other unsubstantiated gossip about her personal life. Hey Karl why aren't you attacking Charlie Rangel - and the Democrats - the ones you're supposedly against remember? Could it be you're just one of many Republicans in DC who would rather lose than to recognize that your party is returning to its roots? Why does it upset the Republican leadership to admit conservatism is what the voters are looking for? Not the phony campaign conservatism practiced by both parties, but the kind that stands for principles like honor, integrity, and personal responsibility. The kind that demands Washington practices the same fiscal discipline the voters have to, that longs for smaller government, that is bound and determined not to be dictated to by a bunch of elitists who have no concept of the real America. The one where people just want to work, raise their children, and be left alone by the DC behavior police from the White House on down trying to dictate every facet of their lives. Get the message GOP - shape up or get shipped out.

Rove's "concerns" about O'Donnell's electability were echoed across the conservative media as well. Even Charles Krauthammer, whom I have much respect for, questioned the wisdom of the voters for throwing the primary to a candidate who "doesn't stand a chance" in the general election. We'll see in November won't we. She won't have a prayer if the RNC refuses to endorse her as they threatened to do last night. By this morning there was a change of heart and O'Donnell was notified she would indeed be getting a check for $42,000, the maximum allowable by law. Guess they figured out if they don't fund her, the base wouldn't be funding the GOP. Why is it that the Republican leadership is at odds with its base? Because they belong to the same progressive elitist aristocracy that is populated by the Democrats. They aren't interested in listening to the voters, they are only interested in their own positions of power.

One by one establishment politicians across the country are losing to candidates perceived as true conservatives ready to return power to its rightful owners - the American people. Time will tell if these new bloods will be able to influence DC should they get there, after all they'll still be fighting an uphill battle against their own leadership. That's were the voters come in. We need to realize that November is not the end of things - its just the beginning. As I've said before getting rid of Democrats isn't going to solve anything if we don't hold Republicans accountable. Come November 3rd, every voter in the country should email their respective representative with a simple question, "Get the message?" Make no mistake, the GOP will look at a big win in November as a mandate to return to the "good old Bush years", but we can't let them get away with it. They'll forget all about the shellacking they got in '06 and '08 and try to attribute the win to anything other than a nationwide rejection of progressivism. Don't let them mislead themselves, yell long and loud if the Republicans don't start an aggressive campaign to undo all the damage that's been done in the last two years - starting with Obamacare. Rest assured they won't do a thing if their feet aren't held to the fire. All of the legislation of the Obama administration has been about power and control over the nation and if it ends up in Republican hands they'll be slow to give it up unless its demanded by the voters.

We have the best opportunity in the last one hundred years to reverse the progressive onslaught that has led the nation to the brink of economic and social collapse. If the GOP refuses to step up the plate at this place and this time, they prove without doubt that there's really only one party in America - the Progressive Party. The voters have 48 days left to impress the tone deaf GOP of the seriousness of their situation. If they refuse to get the message there's always one last resort - A THIRD PARTY, THE CONSERVATIVE PARTY!
