Bob Beckel Admits Liberals Have Failed!
71Things Must be Tough in Liberal Land
I haven't seen Hannity for awhile so I thought I'd tune in to hear his take on the rally - you know the rally? Except Sean wasn't talking about the rally much. Then he got to the Great American Panel portion of the show and I almost fell off my chair. Bob Beckel was on the panel today, not that that's anything unusual but from the look on Beckel's face, I would have bet the farm his wife just filed for divorce and froze his bank account. For those of you unfamiliar with Mr. Beckel he is a graduate professor at George Washington University, commentator on many cable shows, worked in the Carter Administration, ran Walter Mondale's campaign against Ronald Reagan, is or was a staunch supporter of everything Obama, and would you believe it, is a life long liberal democrat.
When the camera panned the guests there was Bob, head in hand and looking for all the world as if he'd just lost his best friend, which if said friend is liberalism, may be true. Beckel couldn't even manage a smile when introduced. The best he seemed capable of was a couple half hearted jabs at Lou Holtz, another guest on the panel, that fell flatter than his countenance. But what caused my near tumble from my chair is what he had to say about welfare programs in the U.S.
Conservatives have for years been trying to draw attention to the failed welfare system in America, but I never in my wildest imaginations would have expected Beckel to make the case. He actually admitted that liberal programs have created two generations of dependents on the government and that liberalism has failed! From Bob's comments, I could swear he must have attended the rally - you know the rally? And he must have had a front row seat to get that affected by the truth being spewed all over the place. It's refreshing to see someone like Beckel have the moral fortitude to admit he's been wrong. Wonder if this thing is contagious. We can only hope.
Just imagine. Tomorrow Nancy Pelosi will call for and end to deficit spending, Harry Reid will demand the borders be secured, John Mccain will agree - for real! Obama will give back the 400 billion unspent dollars still in the stimulus package, and announce another surge in Afghanistan to destroy the Taliban and Al Qaeda once and for all. Charlie Rangel and Maxine Waters will voluntarily resign their seats in Congress and confess their wrong doing. Arnold the Governator will tell his liberal wife to clam up or get out. Charlie Crist and Lisa Murkowski will admit defeat, paving the way for conservative candidates to win the seats needed to actually help the nation turn back the red tide of liberalism. Susan Collins and Olympia Snow will suddenly discover what the R after their names stands for. The dark clouds of liberalism will part and the sun will shine brightly on a new day for America. Our children will finally start getting an education, unions will realize their greed is killing the country, elected officials from coast to coast will see the wisdom of abstinence over abortion. And all this because of the rally - you know the rally?
Oh, excuse me, I fell asleep for a few minutes there and had the craziest dream. I'd tell you all about it but you'd never believe it anyway. But one thing can't be denied. Bob Beckel actually admitted that liberalism has failed! I don't know about poor old Bob but that sure brings a smile to my face. Thank you Mr. Beckel!
